What steps are server companies taking to assure that their racks do not overheat?

I'm sure most of them use the open racks. I have one and it works great. Keeping the room cool would help a lot too.

Hi
The last thing any motorist wants to see is a TEMP warning light flashing in his/her face, or worse yet, steam billowing out from under the hood of the vehicle. Yet it happens all too often. The hotter the weather, the greater the load on the cooling system and the greater the chance of the engine overheating if the cooling system can’t handle the heat.Dedicated Server

I am not too sure if that is funny question but I will answer it.

Most data centers are kept at or about 70 degrees.  Racks have a tendency to face with the heat blowing towards each other and the floors are raised allowing for the cool air to circulate upwards.  Remember hot hair rises and cool air sinks to the ground.  warm air circulates and this is where you have the racks located.
